Overview

Historically the SFHCC has promoted the Hispanic economic activities since 1984 by organizing business mixers, conferences and seminars. In the past year, we realized that we could make a larger impact on the Hispanic population by focusing on the education component of our agenda. We identified technology as a key component not available in the community as readily as it is for mainstream Americans in San Francisco. The SFHCC, in collaboration with our partners, is developing programs focused on bridging the digital gap.

"Latino students in the Mission are the victims of the digital divide," said Fernando Rivera, president of the SFHCC. "The most important thing we could give them was access to technology."

We believe that by providing access to technology and training, we will improve the chances of Hispanics to compete and improve the community's socio-economic conditions.
